Open Letter To NEET aspirants
Dear NEET Aspirants,
Wishing you all the very best for your NEET 2025 examination scheduled on Sunday, May 4 — a day that could shape the rest of your life. Becoming a doctor is not just a career choice, it is a calling — a journey of healing, service, sacrifice, and empathy. It is, indeed, one of the noblest professions in our society.
This exam is your first big step on that path. Behind this one paper are years of hard work, skipped celebrations, sleepless nights, and silent prayers. This year, over 24 lakh aspirants will appear for NEET, and around 1.1 lakh will find their names in the government medical college merit list. Yes, the competition is fierce. But so is your spirit.
In these last hours before the exam, don't try to learn anything new. Focus on revision — especially Biology NCERT diagrams, Physics formulas, and Chemistry reactions. Practice a few timed mock tests, revise your OMR filling strategy, and most importantly, stay calm. Eat light. Sleep well. Keep your admit card, photo ID, and essentials ready tonight itself. Set more than one alarm.
Avoid comparing yourself with others — your journey is uniquely yours. Believe in your preparation, and believe in your purpose. You're not alone in this; you're part of a massive army of dreamers who are choosing the path of compassion and healing.
As I write this letter, I am reminded of the summer of 1986, when I appeared for my own medical entrance exam — back then, it was called PMT. There was no internet, no coaching institutes. Just second-hand books, deep belief, and a dream bigger than fear. I was fortunate to be selected in my first attempt and joined Medical College, Jabalpur. That feeling — of seeing my name on the merit list — remains unforgettable. It was not just a result, it was the opening of a lifelong commitment to serve.
If you’re selected — congratulations! Welcome to a profession where you will touch hearts, not just pulse rates. And if things don’t go as expected — don’t lose heart. Sometimes “no” from the universe is a gentle redirection towards something greater. Trust the process. God often has better plans.
The white coat is waiting. Walk into that exam hall with your head held high and your heart filled with belief.
You’re already a warrior.
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.”
— Winston Churchill.
Wishing you all the best.
