कुछ लम्हे शब्दों में नहीं समा सकते... हाल ही में मुझे अपने प्राथमिक विद्यालय के पूज्य गुरुजी श्री राम गोपाल गुप्ता जी से मिलने और आशीर्वाद लेने का सौभाग्य मिला। दिल भर आया, जब मैंने उनके चरणों में सिर झुकाया। वे 1972 से 1977 तक हमें रावतभाटा तहसील के एक छोटे से गाँव 'मोहना' में पढ़ाते थे। वो दौर बहुत अलग था — न बिजली, न इंटरनेट, न मोबाइल... पर जो रोशनी हमारे जीवन में थी, वो इन महान गुरुओं की थी। हम लालटेन की रौशनी में पढ़ते थे, दरी पर बैठते थे, लेकिन जो सिखाया गया वो जीवनभर के लिए साथ रह गया। आदरणीय श्री गुप्ता जी का पढ़ाने का तरीका अद्भुत था। आज भी उनके वो शब्द गूंजते हैं — “डाक आई कहाँ से? भोपाल से!” “डाक आई कहाँ से? गुवाहाटी से!” “डाक आई कहाँ से? भुवनेश्वर से!” कितनी सरलता से उन्होंने हमें भारत के राज्यों की राजधानियाँ याद करवा दीं! तकनीक नहीं थी, पर उनकी कल्पना शक्ति और समर्पण बेमिसाल था। आज वे 85 वर्ष के हैं। सुनने की शक्ति कम हो गई है, लेकिन उनके आशीर्वाद की गूंज आज भी हमारी आत्मा में है। ऐसे गुरुजनों के कारण ही हमें सिर्फ किताबों की शिक्षा नहीं, बल्कि शिक्षा, संस्कार, समर्पण और सहानुभूति जैसे जीवन मूल्य भी प्राप्त हुए। गुरु सिर्फ शिक्षक नहीं होते, वे जीवनदृष्टा होते हैं। समय बीत सकता है, पर उनका प्रभाव अमर रहता है। Dr. Suresh K. Pandey Life has its own beautiful way of bringing us back to our roots. Recently, I had the fortune of meeting my beloved primary school teacher, Shri Ram Gopal Gupta ji, after so many years. Emotions overwhelmed me as I touched his feet and sought his blessings. He taught us between 1972 to 1977 in a small village named Mohna, located in Rawatbhata tehsil, Chittorgarh district. Those were the days of no electricity, no internet, no phone... yet, they were full of light — the light of wisdom, values, and selfless teaching. We studied under a lantern. We sat on a Dari, and the walls of our classroom were plain, but the minds our teachers shaped were anything but ordinary. Shri Ram Gopal Gupta ji had such a magical way of teaching. I still smile remembering how he taught us the capitals of Indian states: “Daak aayi kahan se? Bhopal se!” “Daak aayi kahan se? Guwahati se!” “Daak aayi kahan se? Bhubaneswar se!” What creativity! What joy in learning! Without technology, he created memories that stayed with us forever. Today, he is 85 years old. His hearing has faded, but his blessings still echo loudly in our hearts. As an eye surgeon, I have witnessed how hypertension affects the retina’s tiny blood vessels, leading to blurred vision or even permanent blindness. Often, people discover their condition only after serious complications like brain hemorrhage or kidney failure. Therefore, every adult over 30 must get their blood pressure checked regularly. This simple step can save lives. But checking alone isn’t enough. A healthy lifestyle is vital — regular exercise, balanced diet low in salt and rich in fruits and vegetables, avoiding smoking and alcohol, adequate sleep, and stress management. Those diagnosed must take prescribed medication without fail. Eye check-ups twice a year are essential to detect early retinal damage.
