#WorldMentalHealthDay2026 #MentalHealthMatters #LivedExperiencesHeard #RealVoicesRealChange #मानसिकस्वास्थ्य #DrSureshKPandey #DrVidushiSharma #SuViEyeHospitalKota “I’m fine.” Sometimes, behind those two words is a struggle someone does not yet feel safe enough to share. Observed on 10 October, World Mental Health Day 2026 carries the theme: “Lived experiences heard: real voices, real change.” People living with mental health conditions bring knowledge that comes from their own experiences. Their voices deserve a meaningful place in decisions about their care, workplace support and the services they use. As a doctor, I believe compassionate care begins with listening to the person. When someone shares their distress, pause before offering advice. Ask, “How have you been feeling?” or “What would help you feel supported?” Then give them time to answer. Listen without interrupting. Respect their privacy. Avoid dismissing their feelings with “Just stay positive.” When needed, support them in seeking professional help. Asking for help takes courage, and nobody should feel ashamed of needing it. Let us make room for honest conversations at home, at work and in our communities—and carry what we hear into meaningful action. Your experience matters. Your voice deserves respect. You deserve care, dignity and the opportunity to be heard. #WorldMentalHealthDay2026 #MentalHealthMatters #LivedExperiencesHeard #RealVoicesRealChange #EndTheStigma #DrSureshKPandey #DrVidushiSharma #SuViEyeHospitalKota
