Rajasthan Ophthalmological Society (ROS) Mid-Term conference was held at Hotel Nahargarh, Sawai-Madhopur. A total of 125 eye doctors from Rajasthan participated in this eye conference held on the 19th and 20th of August. Dr. Suresh Pandey, senior eye doctor of SuVi Eye Hospital Kota and former president of Kota Division Eye Society, performed live surgery during the live surgery session organized at Dr. Pawan Eye Hospital, Sawaimadhopur on 20th August. During the live surgery session (organized for the first time during the Mid-Term ROS Conference), Dr. Pandey successfully performed topical phaco and successfully implanted triphobic trifocal IOL manufactured by Care Group India. Dr. Mukesh Sharma (Hoya Vivinex) and Dr. Pawan Garg (Lucidis) also successfully demonstrated the latest techniques during the live surgery. Dr. Suresh Pandey also shared the experience of advanced Zepto Nano-pulse cataract surgery for mature cataract patients and complex patients undergoing cataract operation and lens implantation in children and infants through surgical videos. He also answered the questions asked by the participants. During the mid-term eye conference, Dr. Pandey presented a copy of his book Diary of an Eye Surgeon to the office bearers of Rajasthan Eye Society (president, Dr. Kamlesh Khilnani, secretary, Dr. Ghulam Ali Kamdar, Chairman Scientific committee Dr. Vishal Agarwal, Treasurer Dr. Harshul Talk, Dr. Virendra Agarwal, Dr. KK Kanjolia, Dr. Sanjeev Desai, Dr. Rajendra Chandel, Dr. Jayshree Singh). A Tribute to Dr. Chandappa S. Reshmi World-renowned eye surgeon, Dr. Chandappa S. Reshmi passed away on Saturday 12th August 2023 in Kalburgi (Gulbarga) at his home district at the age of 90. An alumnus of Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Dr. Reshmi was a highly acclaimed eye surgeon who performed cataract-IOL surgery of the great Shri JRD Tata and former Prime Minister of India Late Shri P. V. Narasimha Rao. He was acclaimed as Pioneer in “Intra-Ocular Lens Implant Surgery”. He trained thousands of ophthalmic surgeons in India and worldwide. Since 1988, 'C. S. Reshmi Award’ is given to the best video film screened and selected at the film festival during the Annual Conference of the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS). We have the opportunity to meet him several times during the international ophthalmic conferences. We pay our tribute to this great visionary who contributed significantly to the World of Ophthalmology.
