Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan contested from the Indian National Congress, facing off against veteran leader Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna. The election campaign turned into a cinematic spectacle. Bahuguna’s team mocked Amitabh’s film background with slogans like – "Mere angne mein tumhara kya kaam hai?" and "Saral nahi Sansad mein jana, maro thumka, gao gana!"
