Global Black Day: Standing Against Violence, Demanding Justice 🖤 Today, as we observe Global Black Day with the Indian Medical Association, we remember Kolkata’s Daughter, a brave and dedicated female resident doctor at RG Kar Hospital who tragically lost her life. Her story is not isolated but part of a disturbing trend that has seen a rise in violence against female doctors across India. Did you know? Over 75% of doctors in India have faced some form of violence at work. Female doctors are disproportionately targeted, with 40% reporting instances of physical or verbal abuse in the last year alone. In many cases, this violence occurs in the very places where they should be safest: hospitals and clinics. This cannot continue. We demand justice for Kolkata's Daughter and a safer environment for all healthcare professionals. The implementation of a Central Health Protection Act is not just an option; it is a necessity.
