Avoid 'Self Sabotage' We all have self-sabotaging behavior preventing us from achieving our longer-term goals. This unhealthy pattern of behavior can be overcome with acceptance, understanding of the root cause, identifying our triggers, behavior modification, and perseverance. What are the signs of self-sabotaging behaviors? 1. Avoiding people and situations that make you uncomfortable 2. Staying within your comfort zone and avoiding change 3. Setting goals that are too low to ensure success 4. Creating conflict with romantic partners, loved ones, friends, or coworkers 5. Trying to control others 6. Attempting to gain others’ approval 7. Making excuses 8. Taking actions that don’t match your values and goals 9. Comparing yourself to others 10. Social withdrawal or isolation 11.
