Blindness remains a significant challenge in India, with a substantial portion of the population suffering due to preventable and curable causes. The situation worsens in rural areas, where the doctor-to-patient ratio is alarmingly low. While urban centers have access to advanced eye care, millions in remote regions still struggle without basic ophthalmic services.
